Arts Research Africa (ARA) is a project where we collectively explore and define Artistic Research in Africa. The project, based in the Wits School of Arts, is supported by the Mellon Foundation.

Launched in 2017, the project enables artists' residencies; postdoctoral fellowships; symposia and colloquia; staff and postgraduate research grants; publications; and a podcast series. All aspects of the project can be explored thorough the pages below.
