Media Library

Before you start

• As a rule of thumb, keep the size of images and documents as small as possible. 2Mb is the limit that can be uploaded.
• The goal is to have the highest quality images with the smallest file size.
• Use quality images appropriate to the page content and to the main audience of the page.
• Don’t use images you have ‘found’ on the web without ensuring you have the explicit permission to use them.
• Resize your images before uploading it to the media library!
• Refer to Recommended image sizes for specific dimensions, and labelling images and documents for the web.

The Media Library is used as a central repository for all images and documents that you wish to use within your content. Moderators can add, modify and delete content in the specific areas of the Media Library to where they are assigned. The Media Library is categorised to allow you to structure your media items and is accessed by clicking on the Content menu on the left and choosing Media library. 

The following window will open.

Make sure to expand the Categorised section by clicking on the + sign. This will reveal the category that you have access to.

Users will be granted access the category Wits University and then to their respective faculty or department.
