Promoboxes

Description

These content types allow a more visual way to market certain events or news happening at your faculty, school or department. Create a hidden section called promotions where you can create all your promotional content. Content in here will be displayed on the bottom left hand side in your main page. This section should be already created for your section.

The content added to the hidden child section should be using the Promo Box 1, Promo Box 2 or Promo Box 3 content types. The order of the promotions will match the order of the content in the section (configurable by user). There is no minimum or maximum number of items for this area. A key feature of the promo boxes is that they all contain a link where a user can be redirected for more information.

How to use promo boxes

1. Promo Box 1

An example of Promo box 1 content is shown below. Notice that the title and text cover portion of the image.

When you create new content, use the “prom” filter to narrow down the content types as shown below.

Select Promo Box 1 and click on Next. You will be presented with the following screen.

Enter a Name for this content.
Select an Image.
Provide a brief Title with the consideration that it will be displayed within a limited area.
Enter text for Description again keeping it brief. Too much text will simply cover the image.
Specify a Link if this content has more related information located elsewhere in SiteManager.
Click Save changes once completed.

2. Promo Box 2

This works in the same way as Promo Box 1 except the image is optional. The appearance of this Promo box is different to the former as shown by the examples below.

3. Promo box 3

This works in the same way as Promo Box 1 except only the Title is required. The image is optional. The appearance of this Promo box is different to the other two as shown by the examples below.
