Wits Quality and Academic Planning

The Quality and Academic Planning Office (QAPO) plays a coordinating and supporting role in quality assurance and is the custodian of quality assurance activities at Wits.

Quality Assurance Framework The Wits Quality Assurance of Educational Provision (QAF) provides a broad framework for assuring and enhancing the quality of educational provision at Wits.
Liaison with external regulatory bodies The QAPO serves as the institutional liaison with external bodies in relation to registration and accreditation of new academic programmes and qualifications.

Academic Offerings QAPO works with academics and Faculties to help develop short courses, curricula and new programmes (qualifications), before submission to the Academic Planning and Development Committee (APDC).

Support and training One of the primary responsibilities of the QAPO is to promote quality by providing training and capacity development initiatives for academics on minor and major academic developments, QQR process and evaluation of students’ learning experiences.
