We're coming to the end of a year that has been full of challenging cases. Over the last few weeks in particular, much of our work has focused on defending the rights of those who are often forgotten: rural communities, survivors of abuse, people who are awaiting trial and those who have been convicted of a crime. Luckily, we've also seen some heartening victories, from a landmark Constitutional Court ruling on common purpose that acknowledges the realities of gender inequality to the High Court holding a municipality in contempt of court for failing to provide services.
Just like Women's Month, the run up to 16 Days of Activism has seen us trying to promote the rights of women and children everywhere from Parliament to the court room – in line with our intersectional approach to social justice. We wish you a very happy end to the year.
