Ndungane and Koloane given honorary degrees

Archbishop Njongonkulu Ndugane and artist David Koloane recently received Honorary Degrees from Wits.
Archbishop Ndungane was given an honorary Doctor of Literature and Koloane an honorary Doctor of Arts at the Faculty of Humanities graduation ceremonies in June 2012.
, is internationally respected for his leadership in contemporary public theology, ethical issues, human rights, social justice and ministry to the poor and suffering. .
Koloane stands as one of South Africa's, and Africa's, most pre-eminent and distinguished artists and socio-cultural activists: his longstanding commitment to traversing multiple roles in the artworld, and broader society, has seen him make immense contributions as a leader, intellectual, writer, critic, educator, curator, consultant and administrator. .
