Student Loans

The WUMEA Committee considers financial assistance to students within the Department of Mining Engineering and Mining Geology at Wits. In special cases, the Committee may consider granting assistance in reading in other branches of Engineering at the University.

These loans are interest free until the student graduates, or leaves the University.

Loans are most often granted to students in their third or fourth year of study.

Applications for loans are made through the Mining Department (Professor Phillips), although the Secretary of WUMEA may be approached directly.

WUMEA financially assists six students with their studies at present.
