Seeking Assistance with Your Biostatistics

The Health Sciences Research Office (HSRO) provides Biostatistical support free of charge to:

  • Postgraduate students (including Honours, MMEDs, Masters, PhD)
  • Postdoctoral research fellows
  • Staff/Researchers
  • Undergraduate students

The HSRO offers epidemiological research designs and biostatistical consulting service within the Faculty of Health Sciences. The consulting service includes the following activities:

  • Advice on linking research questions, aims and objectives with statistical methods
  • Advice regarding research design, sample size, questionnaire development and data collection methodologies
  • Guidance around data capturing and data management/cleaning
  • Assistance with data analysis, reporting of data and data interpretation

Biostatistical consultations take place at the following locations:

  • Phillip V Tobias Health Sciences Building, Parktown
  • Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital
  • Helen Joseph Hospital
  • Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital

The mode of interaction for consultations is Face-to Face or Online (via MS Teams/Zoom/Whatsapp)
