Join us in this year of festivities as we continue the Faculty’s tradition of gathering in common purpose and celebrating the excellence of many of our peers.
As the University observes 2022 as its centenary year, September will kick off with a University-wide Alumni Homecoming Weekend followed by the Faculty of Health Sciences’ annual Alumni Week from the 5th to the 10th of September.
This year’s programme will feature many exciting activities such as the revival of the Alumni Art Exhibition, the Alumni Symposium, and the return of the much loved Alumni Gala Dinner. There is also an opportunity to engage with some of the University’s most profilic individuals, including a special sit-down breakfast with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Zeblon Vilakazi.

FHS Art Exhibition: 5 - 10 September
This FHS Alumni Art Exhibition will showcase artwork created and owned by alumni Medic Artists and art lovers of all kinds. It is open all week until 7pm Venue: PVT Health Sciences Building, Ground Floor Foyer

Learn more about Africa’s rich indigenous knowledge of traditional medicine in a special Faculty of Health Sciences series. It’ll include a lecture that will explore The impact of diseases and migration on Southern Africa’s history and African pharmacology.

Closed“The exhibition “On Breathing” by Nina Barnett and Jeremy Bolen, interrogates Johannesburg's relationship to breathing. It mirrors internal airway tunnels with the networks dug under the ground in search of gold, examining through art the processes of respiration. This launch will be followed by a panel discussion titled “The Adler Museum of Medicine – our way forward”.
