Aims and Objectives

The aims and objectives of the MISGSA are to

  1. Generate greater awareness in South African industry and business to the problem solving power of mathematics
  2. Promote the transfer of mathematical modelling and problem solving to industry and business
  3. Establish better links between industry and academic mathematics
  4. Establish new research collaborations between industry representatives, mathematicians in South Africa and overseas invited guests.
  5. Provide improved university education of mathematicians through
    • expanded employment prospects for graduates in the mathematical sciences A

    • A innovative material for teaching
