The University of the Witwatersrand School of Clinical Medicine Transformation Committee is privileged to serve the members of the School. Our transformation priorities include the following:

• Diversifying the Wits Academy -Increase the representation of designated groups, in particular Africans and Coloureds in the academy. The other groups that are not mentioned in his view are well represented in the academy;

• Curriculum Reform -Develop curriculum reform from a predominant focus upon White academic paradigms to include the works of African theorists;

• Student Admission -A diverse and cosmopolitan student cohort across campuses and residences;

• Promote a Diverse and Cosmopolitan Residence Life Experience -Create access for talented students from poor and marginalised communities;

• Institutional Culture -An institutional culture that makes all staff and students, in particular Black staff and students feel comfortable;

• Institutional Naming -Inculcation of an institutional naming policy that reflects the full diversity of our traditions;

• Language Policy -Development of a language policy intended at enhancing our understanding of one another and prepares students for the workplace.
