Symposium

The department of Surgery Hosts the Biennial Surgical Symposium. This is the oldest departmental Based surgery symposium in the country and continues to be an important educational opportunity for the department, surgeons looking for continued medical education opportunities. This meeting is now hosted in University facilities and remains a sought after meeting by the national surgical profession.

Staff Members of the Department continue to hold National and International positions in the colleges and professional associations. They are too many to mention individually but include Presidents, Secretary General, executive members and members of significant committees such as training committees, developmental committees and research committees of many national and international associations. It is through these endeavours that The Wits Surgery Department continues to have a significant national and International Footprint in Surgery.
