How to Recruit Students

Part-time/casual employment

Jobs for Part-Time / Casual work opportunities advertised through the Unit are as varied as the students themselves! Students have been employed as drivers, shop assistants, couriers, tutors, baby-sitters, researchers, waitrons, cashiers, house sitters, promoters, receptionists, stock takers, barmen/women, models, designers, tutors and managers amongst others.

Recruitment of students with disabilities

We are committed to working towards the goal of creating an accessible and welcoming environment for students who have disabilities.  Accessibility also means access to opportunities for employment.  The Wits Disability Rights Unit has contact with a number of registered students who have a varying range of disabilities. Recruiting companies are encouraged to contact the Disability Rights Unit for information on students who are available for employment. Contact them on +27(0)11 717-9154

Postgraduate students

The best of the best! Wits produces highly adaptable individuals who are equipped with a deeper understanding of fields such as Engineering, Science, Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, Medicine, Commerce, Law, Management, Humanities and the Built Environment.  Students are often able to make contributions to organisations through their capacity to combine knowledge gained through their studies with past experience.

Postgraduate students are often keen to engage in research and internship opportunities in organisations that can provide mutual benefit for the student and the organisation.

Hire a Student Ambassador

Companies have the opportunity to leverage the assistance of students for the promotion of their brand, events, and graduate opportunities to their peers. These student promoters are engaged at the University's part-time student rates per hour. For additional details and inquiries, please contact us via email at grp.ccdu@wits.ac.za
